Peter Bermingham graduated in medicine in Dublin in 1964 and worked as a consultant psychiatrist between 1983 and 2012 (he has now retired from that post). He has been a member of the Society of Analytical Psychology since 1983. He works with adults, including those with a psychiatric history. He believes that psychiatric illness is psychologically caused, rather than biologically and genetically determined.
